Under your feet is paradise

Under your feet is paradise,
lies my paradise, which
like an invigorating spring
flows through my life.

Having you and being raised by you
is
my greatest happiness,
that I feel every day.
You were born from the womb of Vientos Alisios,
of those winds,
that will lead the seeker safely across the seas.
You are my cartographer by night, transforming the night reflection of the sea
into a shining web of hope,
because in it you always reveal to me a way,
which you have also always
whispered softly in my ear.
What beautiful darkness lies out there,
while the glowing wisps of night fall from the sky.

And so I learned in the days of my childhood
that I was surrounded by a warrior,
who took a lot on herself,
to make
us
her kids
happy.

Just for us.

You were ready just for us,
to leave your own paradise, which was under the feet of your own mother.
Now it’s not long ago that you had to say goodbye to her forever
our beloved Abuelita, who now gently unites with the Sahara winds, moving in circles.

Under your feet is paradise,
lies my paradise, which
like an invigorating spring
flows through my life.
